You may have seen various video software, coincidently many with affiliate programs, that boast about creating video sales letters or have some special fancy feature.
 

I'm a fan of the TV show The Carbanaro Effect. It's about a magician that plays practical jokes on unsuspecting people. He does the same magic tricks but one simple change makes a profound difference. With other magicians, people ask, "How did he do that?". With Carbanaro they ask, "How did that happen and what's going on here?".

I just figured out something similar with marketing. A simple little change that has a big impact on my own marketing. It has to do with sales funnels.

I personally don't like having to click through a bunch of "OTOs" to get to my purchase. On the other hand, as a seller I understand that they do help the bottom line and some people like REASONABLE product funnels. But being a "treat others how you want them to treat you" I rarely added OTO/Upsells/Downsells to my products.

But that's changed. It's the Pheeds Funnel. I'm now putting TWO Buy Buttons on my sales pages.

1. Buy and get direct access.
-or-
2. Buy and check out some special deals you won't get anywhere else.

It's now each person's choice. For me as a seller I'm fine with this and I'm now treating people how I want to be treated. Give me a choice.

Somehow I got on my preferred US presidential candidate's list. Maybe through the elections process since I've been in touch with the election supervisor in my county because I live overseas part of the time.

I didn't mind it at first, but it got to the point I was offended, pissed, hurt, and *almost* ready to change candidates.

I'm not one that cries spam and I get a lot of email from a lot of people. But, my Lord they were worse than ANY IM guru wannabe whose list I've ever been on. in 20 years. Except one. The only worse thing was when I knew for a fact that some IM scammer was sharing my trackable email address and would mail from several different servers.  That's over now. But the election thing kept going and going and going and going. I didn't even want to click the unsubscribe link so I let Gmail's unsubscribe for me feature do its magic.

Have you ever been inundated with a tactic like this you normally use by someone you otherwise like and trust to the point that you start questioning them?

I'm sure others are aware of this, but I just came across it...it's a free Chrome browser plugin and it tracks the open rate of individual emails sent in Gmail.

The strategy is when you reach out to someone by email you can tell if they opened your email or not. And if it was opened multiple times it could mean that there is interest in your message and/or it is being passed around and discussed. It also can tell you right away when an email is opened so you can send another message when you know they are looking at their email.

This seems really powerful...and creepy. I don't use Chrome or Gmail much because of Google's prying eyes. What do you think, too creepy to use?

Who "owns" a domain name and has ultimate control? Is it the person who paid the bill/domain registrar customer or one of the admin/tech contacts?

Is there a way, that you know of, to maintain control of a domain with someone else paying the bill?
