Good or Frightening? New program combines text to speach to text and audio editing
Posted by: Kurt - 07-22-2020, 06:05 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (7)

Marketers should really watch this video. First, it's really well done and second it demos a new type of audio editor. I haven't tried it to see if it actually works, but the demo is really impressive and includes the ability to synthesize your voice.

I checked the pricing, it does have a free trial with 3 hours of transcriptions, then it's $14 a month ($10 with annual) with 10 hours of transcrptions a month.

Here's a link to their homepage:
https://www.descript.com/

The sythneszing is very cool and very scary too. I've seen the tech but this is the first time I've seen tech in commercially availble. Descript has some "safe guards" for privacy...

What do you think? Benefits and/or risks?

  Some forum posting tricks
Posted by: Kurt - 07-20-2020, 10:46 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - No Replies

Link Preview

The little magnifier icon next to links is a preview button and if you click it, you "may" see a preview of the site...not all have a preview but some do.
www.etsy.com
www.ebay.com

Easy Video Embed

You can embed videos from Youtube, Facebook and some others just by pasting the URL into a post. To find the URL of a Facebook video just ricght click on it and "Show video URL" option will appear. Click it and a little window with the URL will pop up. Just copy and paste here.

Quick Quote

Click/drag to select text in a post. You'll see a "Reply" button appear just below and to the right of the selected text. Click it and the selected text is added to the reply box. You can repeat this, creating a "multi quote" feature. This is really handy when replying to long posts or just to specific parts of posts.

Letting domains expire could be a major security risk...are you one of them?
Posted by: Kurt - 07-19-2020, 06:31 AM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (9)

Here's an important article for anyone that's ever owned a domain name or has clients that own domain names.

Quote:Why abandoned domain names are so dangerous

Abandoned domain names are low-hanging fruit for attackers, who can use them to access sensitive email or customer data.
https://www.csoonline.com/article/330016...-name.html

This is becoming an ever-larger problem because of COVID's impact on the economy and businesses are cutting their budgets. Before letting a domain you own drop, be sure to consider the factors in the article above.

  Ever hear of Jira Marketing?
Posted by: Kurt - 07-19-2020, 05:54 AM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (1)

I was just reading a short article callled "The 10 Most In Demand Skills Right Now You Can Learn From Home". Most of the suggestions are programming related like java, python, etc.

But one of the skills that is supposed to be in big demand is something called "Jira Marketing". Here's what the article says about it:

Quote:23,163 of SHL’s job listing searches included the skill Jira Marketing. Jira Core Cloud enables businesses to visualize marketing tasks and follow them from ‘to-do’ to ‘done’. Being proficient in Jira Marketing can be a valuable investment in time and energy, enabling teams to make the most of marketing projects. Another great skill to learn from home.

Tongue The Olympics are species-ist
Posted by: Kurt - 07-16-2020, 08:06 PM - Forum: Water Trough - Off Topic - Replies (2)

In the belief the Olympics are species-ist...

In an inter-critter triathlon what animal would you pick to win a race consisting of running a mile, swimming a mile and climbing a 50ft tree? And they have to run, not fly.

I have an animal in mind I think would kick all the other beastly butts...but want to hear a response or two first.

I do think a well conditioned human would do well in this race. I'm worried about felines because they are really poor distance runners. If the race was only 200 yards they'd be harder to beat but would still pick my animal.

What animal do you think is the winner of this triathlon?

aWeber now has a free version and other free email autoresponders
Posted by: Kurt - 07-15-2020, 05:34 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (8)

aWeber now offers a free version for up to 500 email addresses and 3000 total emails sent a month. It has removed a few features but it's still got plenty of features.
https://www.aweber.com/pricing.htm

This is good for people just starting out. aWeber is a little expensive once you are over 500 subs, but it's only a few dollars more and you should have a pretty solid foundation before having to pay.

I use GetResponse but I'll probably sign up for aWeber's free offer. I like using totally difference services for different niches. I'm too much of a bonehead that I would send something like "Get in Touch with Your Feminine Side" to a "Master Urban Combat" list by mistake. (I've actualy done similar)

Another benefit is, some of the email service sites seem to have a little authority in Google and can be used as parasite sites. The free and pro versions of aWeber allow your emails to be posted on an online web archive. You can create a "list" with only one sub (YOU) and set it up to archive and you create web pages every time you send yourself an email. Think of the first email as a "home page" and include some important external links and info. Then link to this page in all your next emails in some way (like using a template with a link to it) to build some internal link juice to your main page.

Get a few external links to the homepage and some interrior pages...don't overdo it, you just want enough so Google recognizes the "site" and spiders it. Remember, one link is infinitly better than zero links.

You can do this with a number of free and paid email services that offer web archives to create web "hosting".

How to have a signiture on Facebook
Posted by: Kurt - 07-13-2020, 08:00 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (1)

I brought this up somewhere else, but it's actually possible to add a "signiture" to your posts on Facebook. This isn't for getting clicks directly. Instead, it's for branding yourself so people will remember you and if they remember you they feel they know you.

Go to www.Giphy.com and create an account. FB will automatically embed GIFs you upload to Giphy in your posts.

Again, the goal is to get people to notice and remember you. You don't want to annoy people or have to post your "sig" every time. But when you make valuable posts add some branding in the form of a GIF from Giphy. You want to help people associate you with being helpful and willing to click on your links.

Here's an example. I don't use this much because it's a little "too in your face" and I'm anything but an attention seeker. But note that I use the same pic of me in the GIF that I use for my FB profile pic. This is intentional:

This is just a two frame animation. It's not even my thumb. Wink

You can do this in many other ways. For example, create a smaller GIF with a subtle slide-in using your favorite quote along with your profile pic or a butterfly (or cows).

  What do you work on?
Posted by: Inixtyre - 07-13-2020, 02:01 AM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (3)

I still use a desktop and wondering if it is possible to work from a phone. What do you use to do your work and do you think you could do your business with a phone or tablet only?

Do as I say not as....do 3 things a day.
Posted by: Kurt - 07-11-2020, 07:29 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (1)

I get sidetracked far too often, but when I follow this simple "plan" I do a lot better than when I don't. It's about doing 3 things in 3 categories every day.

Everyday:

Do three things that have a chance of making you money right away.

Send an email to your list.
Post an affiliate link on your social media account.
Place an ad for your services on Craigslist.
Upload a listing to Etsty, eBay, Amazon.
Contact an old client to see if they need you again.

Do three things that have a chance of making you money in the farily near future.
Create a squeeze page.
Write an email message for your autoresponder or scene for a video.
Update the SEO on a listing at Etsy, eBay, Amazon to improve it's rank.
Buy a domain you can flip.

Do three things to build for the long term.
Participate on social media/forums other communties to build a presence.
Contact an influencer with something for THEM not you.
Learn a new skill.
Write a page/chapter for your next report or info product.
Create an account at a site you've been meaining to join.
Apply for an affiliate program.
Install/upgrade Wordpress.

These are just examples and there are plenty more things you can do. And each can be as big or small as you want. Also if you're just starting out you'll probably need to focus more on building for the long term.

The main point is, even if you just do little things, after a year you'll have done 1000 things to make money "now', another 1000 to make money "soon" and another 1000 things building a foundation for your next thousands of things.

Any suggestions for things that fall into these three categories?

I found this and do it too...
Posted by: Kurt - 07-09-2020, 11:25 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - No Replies

I do this and talk about similar things a lot...

I'm a fan of blues music and have "Liked" some blues related pages/groups on Facebook so they appear on my FB stream.

So I see an image that looks like a video of BB King and Jerry Reed playing together and since I really like both of them, I clicked on the image to play the video.

Instead of the video playing directly, it was an image link that took me to this page:
https://ilovebluesguitar.com/jerry-reed-...-the-sack/

I've made a lot of similar pages over the decades. Wink

First, it uses SEC (someone else's content).

Notice the tee shirt ad as well as other ads on the page. While this page probably doesn't make a lot of money (if any), it will be more than Youtube would pay and this person didn't have to create the main content.

This person is also in control of this page and can use things like retargeting pixels, email squeeze exit pops, etc.

Then the content on the page is just some basic info about BB King. It isn't "deep" but it isn't spam either. This page isn't about ranking in Google. It's about posting on social media without looking like a spammer.

The basic idea is to find things of interest and when posting on social media, instead of posting a link to Youtube, create a page and link to your page with a little extra added value. This is a great use for quality PLR as well as an opportunity to sell tees and other POD products to a targeted audience.
