  Pheeders Traffic
Posted by: Kurt - 03-03-2020, 07:09 AM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - No Replies

Did you come here from the Pheeders sales page looking for proof that the Pheeders system drives free traffic?

If so, you're the proof the strategy works by being here and reading this post. The Pheeders system is probably how you got here for the first time.

You were very likely brought to this Pheeds Forum thread because someone sent you to the Pheeders sales page using their affiliate link.

And there's nothing wrong with that. They sent you information about Pheeders and thought you'd be interested in it.

More importantly, you can do the same thing using Pheeders Membership Maker plugin to connect your own free MYBB forum with the WarriorPlus affiliate platform.

Go ahead a look around the Pheeds Forum. You'll see the public parts of the forum. People that get Pheeders Membership Maker plugin will also have access to all sorts of private forums and downloads.

By participating in the Pheeds Forum you earn Cow Chips which let you buy things like posting an ad, special downloads, coupons and more.

Here's a few links to get you going on the Pheeds Forum:

The Pheeds Forum Homepage with 3 public forums and many private forums you can't see unless you're a members:

Pheeders FAST Step by Step Setup in Under 10 Minutes - 4 training videos all less than 10 minutes TOTAL to get you set up and running:

Why a forum instead of a blog?

Go ahead and look around. We really hope you'll stick around and join us and remember you can do this too.

What changed for keywords & why I stopped selling my keyword tool 15 years ago?
Posted by: Kurt - 03-02-2020, 07:28 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (1)

Many years ago I came up with a formula for keyword research and finding the most powerful keywords for SEO. I spent a few years trying to find if anyone had something like it I could use. There was only one keyword tool at the time that I could find and that was WordTracker.

I was a Las Vegas cab driver/pretty good blackjack and poker player at the time, but lacked confidence with the online SEO stuff. When I found WordTracker they showed their formula and it was exactly like my own. This gave me confidence my formula was mathematically correct...it wasn't a straight ratio of competition to demand.

But there was one BIG difference in our formulas. They only factored competition and demand. But being a decent poker player I understood the concept of "pot odds". In other words, even if you're playing the exact same cards it's better to be in big pots that little ones.

The didn't include the value of the keywords.

So after a few years of procrastinating I hired a coder and created PowBomb, the first desktop keyword tool that also included the value of the keywords in addition to competition and demand.

Things were a lot different then. We had access to stats that we don't have today. After enough things changed, I quit selling PowBomb....and once the stats become too poor to use, that's when you started seeing all the other keyword tools pop up.

Here's the difference...

Overture was the original PPC service where you could buy clicks from a search engine based on keywords. They displayed this info publicly. We knew the exact price webmasters were willing to pay for a click. No guesswork.

BTW, Overture went on to become GoTo.com, which was bought by Yahoo and then became Bing Ads...if my memory is correct?

Also, there were search engines like Infoseek and Hotbot that displayed a "relevancy percentage" in their SERPs. They told you exactly how competitive based on how well they were optimized. Do a search for "pokemon" and the #1 ranked site had a score of 68. Do another search for "SEO" and the top 300 (literally) had a score of 100.

Other search engines told you the exact number of monthly searches.

Back then PowBomb knew:
Exactly how much webmasters bid for a keyword for the top spot.
Exactly how hard it was to rank for a keyword
Exactly how much traffic a keyword got

All of these changed, but the keyword tools keep coming using inaccurate data. IMO many of the newer SEO keyword research tools saw a good idea and copied them without understanding them.

I still use keyword research tools but with the understanding that they really aren't that accurate. They just help me be more decisive when wading through "billions and billions" of keywords when trying to choose which keywords to use.

  Who are these heffers?

I  have these two cow characters from CrazyTalk Animator 3 that I can pose and animate and they're the Pheeds.com mascots.

The black one has 3 face position poses so I use it as the main mascot:

I like the black and white one better, but it only has one pose:

Since I need to use the black one the most I want to name her Phebe...Sounds good with Pheeds Smile.

And the black and white one either Phay, Phelicia or Myrtle.

Do you have any better names than Phoebe, Phay, Phelicia and Myrtle? Phay is the easiest to type over and over. Smile

Do you use Screencasting for video marketing or other social media posting?
Posted by: Gord Isman - 03-02-2020, 06:22 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (2)

Is Screencasting for You? Do you do any screencasting for your video marketing videos or for what you publish on social media platforms like YouTube?

I had a fun time interviewing Steve Dotto, who I also watched for a few decades on Television in Canada.

Video on YouTube: Is Screencasting for You?

Many creators, trainers/educators and marketers create screencasts that are stored on YouTube, other cloud storage solutions/services, as well as in the corporate domain.

In our conversation, we refer to Camtasia (Mac and PC) by TechSmith and Screenflow (Mac) by Telestream – higher-end screen recorder AND video editor solutions.

Of course, there are a plethora of tools out in the marketplace – both FREE and paid, but the focus of our conversation is to: help explain what screencasting is; the many uses for screencasting; and to help you decide if a screencasting tool solution is something you need in your repertoire of tools to create content.

For years, many of these screen capture products were highly perceived for their screen recording software features, not their video editing features.  Now, for many, the screencasting solutions are an all-in-one solution - screen recorder and video editor.

Are these combined screen recorder and video editor products all you really need?  Or do you need some other solution – for example: Filmora, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro, to name a few?

What video editing solution do you use for your video marketing, and why?

Pheeders FAST Step by Step Setup in Under 10 Minutes
Posted by: Kurt - 03-01-2020, 05:01 AM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (4)

This thread will show you how fast and easy it is to get your first Pheeders membership up and running, starting from scratch.

I didn't record this first video myself, because I don't have Softaculous or Fantasico, but it shows how to install MYBB in under 2 minutes using Softaculous in cPanel. Fantiastico will also install MYBB in about the same amount of time.

If you don't have either of them, it will take about 7-8 minutes extra to install MYBB manually. It's similar but you'll need to create an MYSQL database in cPanel and upload/ftp the forum files yourself.

Note - Be sure to copy/paste and save the following info when creating your forum:

Why do marketers sell their secrets if they're so good?
Posted by: Kurt - 02-29-2020, 07:46 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (2)

Why do marketers sell their secrets if they're so good?

This is a question I've seen a lot over the years, but I've only seen snark replies and not any real "beef". (Pheeds => cows => beef...get it? Smile )

I can't speak for everyone that launches a product, but I can tell you my opinions and motivations.

First, "Why would someone sell their secrets" is a legit question. However, it is NOT a legit conclusion and is an ad hominem fallacy. Be suspicious but not absolute.

As a vendor, here are my reasons:

1. Ego. This is probably the most under-appreciated motivation in marketing, if not all of life. Don't underestimate being seen an "expert" does for the ego. Ever notice how many people that have spoken in front of crowds love to post those pics when promoting themselves? They're on a stage "above" everyone else.

2. Money. Yes, we think we'll make enough money to make it worth our while and that selling the product will make us more money than just using it ourselves. Hopefully vendors also consider the value to their customers and not just their own benefit.

3. Timing. Back in my SEO days I'd start getting hints in places like forums that other people were starting to figure out some things I already had. I figured if it was going to be made public, it may as well be by me. Just because you know a "secret" doesn't mean other people don't know it too.

4. I wanted it. This is something that goes against all traditional marketing advice, which is you don't create things for yourself you make them for the market. However, sometimes it makes perfect BUSINESS SENSE.

For example, I wanted Pheeders Membership Plugin to help with this Pheeds forum. I had it created for me. By offering it for sale I am making my investment back and using the money to finance further development for me and other Pheeders. It may not have been a perfect marketing decision, but it makes business sense to me.

5. Vendors also sell things when they don't fear competition. I'm not concerned about you competing with me with a similar forum. Just the opposite. I hope you are a part of the Forum Phorum (where we talk about forums) and we can work together.

There's a bunch of different "angles" even a marketing forum can have. Just make it look different and I'm sure we can think of ways that we both benefit.

Plus if any of you complain about "free speech"...I'm not stopping you from saying what you want and setting the rules on your own forum. I'll even help you get started. Smile

And there's an endless supply of other niches for your forums.

  Redefining online and offline marketing?
Posted by: Kurt - 02-29-2020, 07:04 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (2)

I always classified online marketing as things like SEO, social media, PPC, email, etc...and offline marketing as radio/tv ads, print, billboards, etc.

But I think I was wrong. It isn't about where your ads and promotions are, it's about where you want your customers to come from (the market).

For me now, online marketing means you want customers to order online and offline marketing is you want customers to walk into your shop, call you on the phone or you go to their home, etc. You can get offline customers using online marketing and vice versa, so my original definitions don't really describe things well.

Do you agree? When you say "online marketing" and "offline marketing" what are the differences to you?

Fun, weird, wild and wacky marketing ideas
Posted by: Kurt - 02-29-2020, 05:28 PM - Forum: Cash Cow Marketing - Replies (27)

I love creative marketing. If you know of any original ideas post them below, including marketing humor, creativity and interesting trivia.

Here's an idea I cam across a while back. If you have a "boardwalk" business on the beach have some flipflops engraved on the bottom with a message like,
Follow me to Kurt's Pizza!

Then when people walk on the beach wearing them your ad will be inprinted in the sand with every step.

I think this could also work in ski resort towns where there's always snow on the ground. Could you have tire chains or something that goes on car tires to "print" a business card in the snow every time?
