Schmidt corrector plate

A Schmidt corrector plate can be used to correct spherical aberration in a non-parabolic reflecting telescope. This "plate" is actually a lens which refracts the light after it has been reflected by the mirrors. Schmidt corrector plates do not compensation for the lack of magnification which non-parabolic reflectors experience.
