Gordon BanksGordon Banks, OBE (born in Sheffield, December 30 1937) is one of the best soccer goalkeepers in history. He played a major role in the World Cup of 1966, and played in the final.
He played with the following clubs:
- 1955-59 Chesterfield F.C
- 1959-67 Leicester City F.C
- 1967-72 Stoke City F.C
- 1977-78 Fort Lauderdale Strikers

Banks is also credited with making the best save ever, during the 1970 World Cup in a game against Brazil when Pelé executed a downward header, which somehow Banks contrived to scoop away over the crossbar in the most extraordinary of fashions.
